Lesbians are Women

In Australia we lost the right to exclude male-bodied people from the category ‘lesbian’ or 'woman'.

EXAMPLES

  • https://archive.ph/hiuTK “If a lesbian cannot draw a boundary around herself and a group of biological women to meet with, then neither can any woman in Australia.”  Legally applied queer theory inevitably rests on conflating definitions of “gender”, “gender identity” and “sex”.  Sydney lawyer Katherine Deves says that we have found ourselves in competing rights claims between “trans women” and women, partly because key terms of “sex” and “gender” are not properly defined in law.  They are not defined because the gender identity ideology is largely fiction, and the confusion is a deliberate political strategy to force a re-engineering of our society. #Australia

  • https://archive.ph/bwYzy The decline and fall of freedom of association for Lesbians and Gays in Australia. The freedom of association – the right to choose who one does or does not enter into relationships with by consent, contract or acquiescence – has long been considered a foundation of liberty, which should be abridged only to protect the public from grave harm. Tasmania has chosen to remove that freedom of association from Lesbians, from women. #Tasmania

  • State Sanctioned Rape Culture, when we say 'men are lesbians' as they have in Tasmania, we introduce state sanctioned rape culture that supports male rapists being put into women's prisons. And with refusing women the right to associate on the basis of consent instead of cooercion to form relationships with men by the state. #Tasmania
